Overflow /tmp to a capped, self-wiping NFS share on a home server. For laptops whose /tmp is a small tmpfs (RAM) or whose disk is tight: an ext4 image exported over NFS, mounted on demand with a local-disk fallback, expired hourly after 24 h. Skills to set it up, route large temporary files there, and report and clean it.
