Ljg Read

A reading companion that walks you through texts with translation, structural analysis, and Socratic questioning. It maps the document into skeletal arguments, supporting evidence, and connective tissue, then guides you paragraph by paragraph with three-layer translation (literal, natural, cultural context) and stops at key moments to ask what you actually think. The goal isn't to explain the text but to generate questions you hadn't considered. It saves sessions to org-mode files with timestamps and builds a glossary as you go. Designed for anyone reading English academic or philosophical texts in Chinese, but the real value is the deliberate pacing and the refusal to let you passively consume. It's supposed to make itself obsolete as you get better at reading critically.
