When a major Printing Press upgrade lands, new MCP surface, auth modes, transport changes, this pulls an existing CLI from the library and regenerates it from scratch under the current machine. It preserves prior research and novel features by feeding them into the novel-features subagent's reprint reconciliation logic instead of dropping them. You get a recency recommendation (research under 30 days looks safe to reuse, over 120 days probably redo), then it hands off to /printing-press with the right context so the subagent can keep, reframe, or drop prior features with reasons. Use this when a systemic upgrade would lift a published CLI more than manual polish. For one-off fixes, /printing-press-polish is lighter weight.
