Lets you search CNKI's journal database by name, ISSN, CN number, or sponsor without leaving your Claude chat. It navigates the CNKI portal, auto-detects search type based on your query format, filters to journals only, and pulls back structured results with impact factors, citation counts, and download metrics. The implementation is clever about captcha detection, distinguishing between Tencent's preloaded off-screen SDK and actual user-facing challenges. Useful if you're doing academic research in Chinese databases and want to quickly find publication metadata or compare journal metrics. The whole search completes in two tool calls, and if you get a single result it can flow directly into the journal index skill for browsing issues.
