Yc Reader

This is a read-only interface to the yc-oss API, an unofficial open-source dataset of all publicly launched Y Combinator companies that updates daily from YC's own Algolia index. It's pure curl and jq, no auth needed. You can pull company profiles, filter by batch or industry, find who's hiring, or dig into diversity data across 5,700+ companies going back to 2005. The API is just static JSON files on GitHub Pages, so it's fast and reliable. Best for startup research, competitive analysis, or building datasets around the YC ecosystem without scraping or hitting rate limits. The skill doc includes solid jq filter examples for common queries.
