When you're juggling competing goals where optimizing one dimension hurts another, this skill maps the tradeoff landscape and finds dynamic balance points. It walks you through identifying dialectical pairs (speed vs. quality, depth vs. breadth, short-term vs. long-term), checking whether you're being one-sided, and setting stage-appropriate priorities that don't ignore either pole. The approach is borrowed from Mao's "On the Ten Major Relationships," which argues against Soviet-style over-optimization in one direction. What's useful here is the structured output: it forces you to list every relationship pair, mark which side you're currently favoring and by how much, then set explicit imbalance warning signals. Less useful when you've already decided the tradeoff or when there genuinely is no balancing act to perform.
