Summary
Converts between full journal names and ISO 4 or MEDLINE abbreviations using a three-tier cascade: a local 25K-journal JabRef cache, the AbbrevISO API for algorithmic ISO 4, and NLM Catalog for biomedical journals. The real utility is BibTeX file processing, where it rewrites journal fields in bulk with a dry-run preview and idempotency keys for safe retries. The CLI returns structured JSON envelopes with explicit error codes so you can branch on retryable upstream failures versus definitive not-found results. Saves you from guessing abbreviations or manually fixing reference lists before manuscript submission. The offline mode and cache management commands make it sandbox-friendly when network access is restricted.
