Opentargets Database

A GraphQL interface to the Open Targets Platform, which is basically a giant database linking diseases to potential drug targets using evidence from genetics studies, clinical trials, animal models, and pathway data. You'd reach for this when doing early stage drug discovery research or trying to validate whether a gene is worth pursuing as a therapeutic target. The skill handles the API calls and comes from DeepMind's science toolkit, which gives it some credibility. One thing to watch: it requires uv for Python environment management and makes you acknowledge their data license terms before use, so there's a bit of setup friction before you can start querying.
