Scene Sequencing

This diagnostic helps you fix pacing problems using Dwight Swain's scene-sequel structure: scenes end in disasters (goal blocked, situation worse), sequels let characters process and decide what's next. The core insight is that the ratio of scene to sequel controls tempo, so you compress or expand the processing beats to speed up or slow down. It comes with a script that analyzes your text for goal, conflict, disaster, reaction, dilemma, and decision markers. Use it when individual scenes work but don't accumulate momentum, or when your story feels simultaneously exhausting and slow (usually means relentless scenes without processing time).
