MCP Pointer provides a bridge between web browsers and agentic coding tools through a combination of an MCP Server and Chrome Extension. Users can select DOM elements in the browser using Option+Click, and the extension captures complete element data (text content, CSS classes, HTML attributes, positioning, and styling) which the MCP Server makes available to AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf via standardized MCP tools. The system solves the problem of providing agentic coding tools with precise, visual context about webpage elements without manual HTML inspection.
