Exposes two tools: retrieve-google-maps-platform-docs for searching official docs, code samples, and GitHub repos with optional API filtering, and retrieve-instructions for foundational best practices. Particularly useful when building Maps, Routes, or Places API integrations and you need authoritative implementation guidance without context switching. Note that the npm package is deprecated as of July 2026 in favor of the remote MCP server hosted at mapscodeassist.googleapis.com. Works standalone or as a Gemini CLI extension with additional theming and skills.
