This helps you build monitoring dashboards that operators can actually use, not vanity boards stuffed with every available metric. It walks you through starting with real questions (is it healthy? where's the bottleneck? what changed?) before touching layout, then organizing panels into health, performance, resources, and service-specific sections. Works with Grafana, SigNoz, and similar platforms. Includes concrete panel recommendations for common services like Kafka, Elasticsearch, and API gateways. The quality checklist at the end is worth following even if you don't use the rest of the workflow.
