After exporting your library as XML, it builds a full-text search index across metadata and PDF content, optionally adding semantic search via local embeddings. You can ask Claude to search by keywords or meaning, format citations in APA/Harvard/Vancouver/Chicago/IEEE, generate bibliographies, export BibTeX for LaTeX, find related papers, or read specific pages from attached PDFs. Indexing is incremental so adding new references just means re-exporting the XML and running a quick update.
