Summary
Bridges Zotero's reference management API to MCP-compatible assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. Exposes 16 tools for natural language operations: search your library by topic or author, add papers by describing them (handles DOI lookup automatically), create collections, tag items, and export citations in APA, Chicago, or BibTeX. Works with both personal and group libraries. You authenticate once with your Zotero API key and user ID (encrypted server-side), then manage your entire research bibliography through conversation. Useful if you're writing papers or doing literature reviews and want to skip the Zotero GUI. Supports streamable HTTP and SSE transports.
