Connects Claude and other MCP clients directly to CKAN open data portals through their public APIs. You get tools to search datasets, browse organizations, query tabular data, and pull metadata from portals like dati.gov.it, data.gov, or open.canada.ca without writing API calls yourself. Runs locally via npm or through a hosted endpoint with a 100k request daily quota. Built on DCAT metadata standards, so it works consistently across different CKAN instances. Useful when you're digging through government data catalogs, building data pipelines, or just need to verify what datasets an administration has published without clicking through portal UIs.
