This wraps the Hebcal API for Jewish calendar data, letting you pull Shabbat times, holiday dates, Hebrew date conversions, and Torah portions. You can query by GeoNames ID or coordinates, and it returns JSON with candle lighting, Havdalah, and parsha info. The included React hook is a nice touch if you're building a calendar app or community site that needs this data. Hebcal has been around forever and their API is solid, so this is basically just giving Claude structured access to query it. Beats manually parsing Jewish calendar logic or dealing with timezone calculations yourself.
