Obsidian

This gives you what you need to work with Obsidian programmatically. The URI scheme gets you basic automation like opening notes or triggering searches from external scripts. If you're building plugins, you get the full TypeScript API with vault operations, workspace management, and event handling. The Local REST API section is the real workhorse for external integration, complete with Python examples for reading, writing, and searching notes over HTTP. It also covers the wikilink syntax and embed patterns that make Obsidian's internal linking work. Use this when you're automating workflows, building custom plugins, or need to query your knowledge base from scripts outside Obsidian itself.
