Summary
This handles the surprisingly messy job of isolating AI referral traffic in GA4 and GSC. Out of the box, GA4 lumps ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and other AI sources into generic referral buckets, which makes measuring their actual impact impossible. The skill walks you through three options: exploration reports with regex filters, custom channel groups, or detail reports. The regex it provides covers the usual suspects (chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, claude.ai, gemini.google, etc.) and can be adapted. It also touches on Google AI Overviews tracking, though that's still partial coverage. If you're doing any GEO work or just want to see whether AI traffic converts differently, this gives you the separation you need.
