Context7 tackles a real pain point in AI-assisted coding: LLMs hallucinating APIs or generating code against outdated documentation. It fetches current, version-specific docs and examples directly into your prompt context. Just add "use context7" to any prompt in Cursor, Claude Desktop, or other MCP clients, and it pulls the latest library documentation before generating code. You can connect via HTTP remote server or run it locally with npx. The get-library-docs tool accepts documentation IDs to retrieve specific package info. Think of it as a live documentation feed that keeps your AI coding assistant honest about what APIs actually exist and how they currently work, without you switching tabs to check docs yourself.

To install Context7 MCP Server for any client automatically via Smithery:

Build the Docker Image:
First, create a Dockerfile in the project root (or anywhere you prefer):
