Connects to NOAA's Storm Surge Operational Forecast System to pull water level predictions and validate them against CO-OPS observations. You can query forecasts by station or coordinate, compare model output to real measurements over time windows, and find the stations with highest predicted surge. Useful when you're tracking coastal flooding risk, need hindcast verification for model performance, or want to see how well STOFS is doing at specific gauges. All data comes through OPeNDAP and NOAA's public APIs, so no authentication required. Part of a larger ocean-mcp monorepo with 14 servers covering everything from buoy observations to hurricane recon data.
