A nostalgic archive of what was briefly a magical April Fools integration. This server was built during Claude Code's week-long `/buddy` companion feature in April 2026, implementing a full gacha collection system that brute-forced hash salts to patch the Claude Code binary with custom companions. It exposed tools for rerolling species and rarities, petting to build affection tokens that boosted future roll odds, tracking collections in a BuddyDex, and talking to companions with procedurally generated personalities based on stat distributions across debugging, patience, chaos, wisdom, and snark. The native integration is gone now, but the repo remains as a technical artifact of binary patching, multi-worker salt brute-forcing, and building a legitimate game system around an Easter egg that wasn't meant to last.
