Summary
Wraps the Obsidian CLI (built into Obsidian 1.12+) so Claude can read, write, and search your vault notes without installing an MCP server or REST API plugin. Part of the claude-obsidian v1.7+ transport layer. The skill auto-detects whether the CLI binary is available and falls back to direct filesystem operations if not. You get cleaner auth (no TLS bypass), lower latency than HTTP, and better error messages when things break. The author recommends preferring kepano/obsidian-skills if available since Steph Ango's canonical CLI skill is the authoritative reference. Desktop only, so mobile workflows still need filesystem writes.
