Summary
This is a working integration with OpenAI's Assistants API v2, but here's the catch: the entire API is being sunset in August 2026. OpenAI deprecated v1 in December 2024 and is pushing everyone toward their new Responses API. If you're maintaining legacy code or have an existing app built on Assistants, this gives you a 12 to 18 month migration window with production-ready tooling. But if you're starting fresh, skip this entirely and go straight to the openai-responses skill. It's functional and has 317 installs from people in the same boat, but you're essentially adopting something with a visible expiration date.
