This generates a plan.json that maps out your entire research project in one pass. It reads your request.md and figures out scope, report structure, research dimensions, search strategies, execution order, and completion criteria. The interesting bit is it can discover report formats first when you're doing domain-specific work like policy analysis or due diligence where structure matters. Each dimension gets its own key questions, method, and sufficiency criteria so you know when to stop searching. Keeps things lean at 3-5 dimensions for normal research, up to 8 for complex projects. The output drives both your sub_reports and final report.md without locking in conclusions upfront.
