Connects to the Aladhan API to provide Islamic prayer time data and calendar conversions without requiring an API key. Exposes two tools: qibla direction calculations from coordinates (returns compass bearing to Mecca) and Gregorian to Hijri date conversion. Useful when building assistants that need to surface prayer schedules, Islamic calendar dates, or directional guidance for Muslim users. Runs through Pipeworx's gateway infrastructure, which means you can either add it standalone or access it as part of their larger 770+ data source collection. The ask_pipeworx interface lets you query in natural language instead of calling tools directly.
Islamic prayer times & calendar MCP (Aladhan API). Keyless.
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 770+ live data sources.
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
qibla | Qibla direction (compass bearing toward the Kaaba in Mecca) for a given latitude/longitude, in degrees from true north. |
convert_to_hijri | Convert a Gregorian date to the Hijri (Islamic) calendar date. Useful for Islamic calendar date conversion. |
Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"prayer-times": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/prayer-times/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 770+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Prayer Times data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
