This walks you through the full lifecycle of adding configuration policies to VS Code, from registration to OS-level deployment artifacts. You'll use it whenever you add a `policy:` field to a config property, whether that's for Group Policy on Windows, managed preferences on macOS, or account-based Copilot policies. The architecture is layered and the export process is particular: you must match `minimumVersion` to the current package.json version, include `enumDescriptions` for string enums or the build fails, and run `npm run export-policy-data` to regenerate the auto-generated catalog. The skill also covers the less obvious case of extension settings, which live in vscode-distro's product.json rather than in extension code itself.
